Old Railway Line
The Meon Valley Railway was a cross-country railway in Hampshire that ran for 22 1/4 miles between Alton and Fareham, closely following the course of the River Meon. Passenger services were withdrawn in 1955, and the line was closed completely on 13 August 1968. Now the Old Railway Line is a beautiful track, alive with wild flowers, insects, animals and birds. I am drawn to the light as it falls between the trees, pooling in bleached areas on the earth.
